(Chronicles of the Rocket Knight) BGM: Credits – Sparkster: Genesis Version

<Sparkster> “Rocket Knight’s journal, dated Auguest 5th. My birthday as a matter of fact. I write this so as to recall the most intriguing experience. It is rare that I venture to worlds outside of my own and when I do it is often in the line of duty. I briefly seen strange worlds with menaces such as Snatchers and the Red Falcon in the past. I’ve even stopped briefly at time for vehicular racing and a little of the old “track & field” events, but I had never seen something such as this. I witnessed not one but several planets not unlike Elhorn. It is on those planets that I would band together with speedy blue heroes that may very well rival my own prowess. In addition to that, I would encounter evils much like that I have encountered in the past, yet also so very different.”

"Last of the Rocket Knights”

It hadn’t been long since I had come out of retirement. I had foiled the schemes of General Swinehart to overthrow the kingdom and was settling into help training the next generation. I wasn’t ready to take lead once again after the kingdom had foolishly trusted Axel Gear to take command, but I was beginning to come to a point where I could reconcile. Yet just when I was approaching the royal castle, I found that most of the royal guard had been replaced with mechanical soldiers sent to apprehend me!”

Playable: Sparkster
Enemies: Swatbots x3 (Trooper)
Stage: Zebulos

“The Fate of Princess Sherry”

“These metal troopers answered to some stranger that came into power. I knew little of him, but he had apparently answered to the name Robotnik. That made it pretty clear what his expertise was. I flew to the bed chamber of Princess Chamber to see if she was still safe, only to find her acting strange and treating me as if I was criminal. This Robotnik would soon enter and I could only assume he had used some influence to have the princess under his sway.”

Playable: Robotnik & Swatbots x3 (Trooper)
Enemies: Sparkster
Stage: Zebulos

"Dungeon Escape”

“I wasn’t able to fight back without putting the princess’ life in jeopardy. It wasn’t long before I was imprisoned in the castle dungeons. I knew something had to be done and planned to make my escape. My jailer had foolishly had my jetpack and armor close at hand, so I was able to make good use of them.”

Playable: Sparkster
Enemies: Nutzan Bolt
Stage: Scrambled Egg

"The Secret to Robotnik’s Power”

“Before I could overthrow Robotnik, I needed to learn more about him. I infiltrated his personal quarters and found a secret entrance to a shrine containing some strange manner of crystal. I had no idea at the time, but it was in fact an artifact claimed from the fortress of my former foe, King Gedol. Before I could investigate further, I was attacked by mirror images of myself emerging from the crystal!”

Playable: Sparkster
Enemies: Sparkster x3 (Mirror)
Stage: Ixis Vale’s Crypt

"A New Serpentine Enemy"

“Now that I knew the means in which Robotnik used to usurp power, I could now use it to undo the spell he had placed upon the princess! Yet I acted hastily and did not know just what I was handling. It was actually a portal to various different yet similar worlds! What emerged from it was what I initially believed to be King Gedol himself or at least some remnant of his army.”

Playable: Lyric
Enemies: Sparkster
Stage: Zebulos

“Two Blue Blurs”

“This new opponent had caught me off guard and I found myself dragged into a pathway to another world! I had thought that I had landed in the kingdom outskirts at first, but then I saw looping structures and checkered rock formations I wasn’t familiar with. I saw a speeding blur and went to investigate. All I wanted to do was clarify where I was, but this stranger saw me matching his speed as a challenge. I had to put my jets to maximum power just to keep up with this hedgehog!”

Playable: Sonic
Enemies: Sparkster
Stage: Green Hill

"A Spirited Challenger”

“I had found out this hedgehog was named Sonic and that Robotnik was formally the tyrant ruling over a city called Metropolis. It wasn’t long before he introduced me to the remaining Freedom Fighters he confided in. While becoming accommodated with the land, I explored a place called Granite Hill. This eccentric gentleman named Alexander took a shine to me and made a strange request. He wanted me to help spar with his son, Axel. While very impulsive and brash, I can at least be glad that this Axel was easier to get along with compared to a certain other I know.”

Playable: Sparkster
Enemies: Axel
Stage: Training Facility

"A New Quest”

“I found that Sonic was in the service of his own princess and aside from that he confided in a brilliant young fox named Miles Prower…although I believe he prefer the name Tails. They made it clear we needed to track down Robotnik and bring him to justice. We used their vehicles to cross the dimensional boundaries, but we were intercepted by the enemy’s armada.”

Playable: Sparkster & Sonic
Enemies: Eggrobo x3
Stage: Sky Patrol

"The Twin Sonics"

“This incident had knocked us drastically off course, sending Sonic and I into some world that appeared to be Mobius until I saw just how different it was. There was this other Sonic taller in stature that wore a scarf. He had thought we were part of some ploy by Robotnik, but in this land they referred to him as Eggman. Hm…I guess he does somewhat resemble an egg now that I think of it.”

Playable: Sparkster & Sonic
Enemies: Boom Sonic and Sticks
Stage: Bygone Island

"The Basis of All Combat”

“After making peace, I would tell this other Sonic and his familiar yet strange company what I have been through. Apparently that serpent was known as Lyric and we could only assume he made some alliance with Robotnik. Before I could explain further, I and both of the young foxes were drawn into a portal to yet another strange zone. It is there that the elders told me of a prophecy that would threaten the balance between our worlds. I was then tasked with a trial through combat with two of their best warriors.”

Playable: Sparkster & Boom Tails
Enemies: Errol and Morrain
Stage: Nameless Zone

"Reclaiming the Homeland”
“The shaman and the Enchanter Kings said that the first Sonic I had met…whom they strangely enough referred to as “sidekick”…had to stay behind in order to train in the ways of the blade, For some reason they felt that Miles would be more accustiomed to the task, but their prophecy had clearly mentioned Sonic. In the meantime I would return to Zebulous where I would stage an attack against one of Robotnik’s leading commanders.”

Playable: Sparkster
Enemies: Brutus
Stage: Zebulous

"The Dreaded Rival"

“While I was still engaged in battle, the other Sonic and his friends would escort the princesses to safety. Her majesty Sherry had escaped along with her sister, whom had taken with her parchments containing knowledge on the Sacred Sword that have aided me in the past. Unfortunately this would make Princess Cherry herself a target. My friends would find themselves ambushed by my hated rival, Axel Gear!”

Playable: Sparkster (Axel Gear)
Enemies: Boom Sonic and Boom Knuckles
Stage: Zebulous

"The Pursuit"

“I should have known that Axel would have enlisted his services to yet another enemy of Elhorn. We were quick to recuperate once Robotnik’s forces had made their escape. Once again I would volunteer to personally board an enemy’s warship. I wouldn’t be alone this time though. My new friends were quick to join with me against some of Robotnik’s underlings.”

Playable: Sparkster, Boom Amy, and Boom Knuckles
Enemies: Metamorphia and Vermin
Stage: Wing Fortress

“The Commander’s Ploy”

“So Axel Gear had introduced Robotnik and Lyric to that fortress, the remains of the Pig Star on Devilgus’ on home planet! I should have expected as much. Robotnik’s commander was eager to return the favor for his previous defeat. I had thought he was the one holding Princess Cherry captive, but it was only a ploy crafted by some of Devotindos’ pig mercenaries.”

Playable: Sparkster, Tekno, & Shortfuse
Enemies: Brutus and Swatbot x2 (Trooper)
Stage: Devotindos

"Even Adversaries”

“Axel Gear was always a match for me in abilities, but it seemed that Sonic had his own adversary crafted by Robotnik himself. This “Metal Sonic” teamed along with my foe against me and the second Sonic. While this Sonic had no experience in the art of the sword, he was able to make use of a device known as an Enerbeam. I for one am curious about this technology.”

Playable: Sparkster & Boom Sonic
Enemies: Metal Sonic and Sparkster (Axel Gear)
Stage: Devotindos

"The Overlord and the Wizard”

“Robotnik had apparently not come across the crystal on his own. He had made an uneasy alliance with an evil sorcerer named Ixis Naugas. It was through him that he discovered the crystal leading between Lyric’s dimension and my own world. He proved to be a formidable foe, but his ability to influence fear proved to have no effect on me! I’ve faced far worse against Devilgus’ own hypnotic gaze!”

Playable: Sparkster & Boom Sonic
Enemies: Robotnik and Ixis Naugas
Stage: Devotindos

"Regrouping with Allies”

“After saving the princess, it was then that we chose to make our retreat. The Tails I had met first was quick to arrive with a starcraft of his own, but we still needed to hold back the enemy forces. As for the Sonic he usually knows best, he was in fact training with a legendary sword within mystical realm that only he knew of. I didn’t quite understand until Sonic handed me a book containing the legends of knights that were much like the Rocket Knights of Elhorn.”

Playable: Sparkster, Boom Tails, and Tails
Enemies: Eggrobo x3
Stage: Blue Typhoon

"Trials in the Other World”

“I was greeted by a young lady named Merlina, who had appeared much different compared to anyone else I have encountered. Sure she resembled Robotnik’s species to some degree, but I was certain she was not evil…right? Her intention was to help me channel the power of the Sacred Sword through the trials she enforced upon me. First was confronting my own doubts. This would take the form of Axel Gear, who fought while mocking me concerning our master’s death…the very opossum whom trusted that fiend yet was slain by his hand!”

Playable: Sparkster
Enemies: Sparkster (Axel Gear)
Stage: Molten Mine

"The Final Trial”

“It proved daunting, but I was at last able to win over my own emotions. Merlina had one last test. She had her own inner darkness and would channel it to push me to my limit. It was here where my own ambition to survive would have to pull through. I had to channel the power of the Sacred Swords once more in order to prevail!”

Playable: Sparkster/Gold Sparkster
Enemies: Merlina/Dark Queen Merlina
Stage: Nameless Zone

“Restless Dreamers”

“I wasn’t the only one regaining my prowess. Sonic had undergone some interesting training…from his own sword no less. I was at a loss for words when I heard it speak. It was clear what it was to happen next. We were to test our skill by sparring with one another bearing our respective blades.”

Playable: Sparkster/Gold Sparkster
Enemies: Sonic/Excalibur Sonic
Stage: Nameless Zone

“Time for Revenge”

“Somehow the forces of our enemy succeeded in breathing the boundaries of this world. Naugas had taken Lady Merlina off guard and was attempting to syphon her power as his own. That wasn’t his initial goal as he had wanted vengeance for my previous victory against him. That wizard would quickly learn he had gotten more than he had bargained for.”

Playable: Sparkster/Gold Sparkster
Enemies: Naugas/Ultra Naugas
Stage: Molten Mine

“Beyond the Boundaries”

“It was now time to return home and confront our enemies. He had to cross the dimensions back to Mobius and by now ours foes had likely managed to do the same. We had to defend the local citizens against Robotnik’s hired goons. These two in particular seemed somewhat lupine like some certain enemies of mine. Had to admit I was suddenly feeling nostalgic.”
Playable: Sparkster & Antoine
Enemies: Legion Drago and Dingo
Stage: Knothole Village

“Operation Snake Eater”

“By now we were ready to face our enemies. Robotnik was leading this attack, but it was clear that Lyric was the one making the most of the Pig Star’s technology. I hear that Sonic once encountered something similar called the Death Egg.  I first thought we were fortunate enough to see neither that nor the Pig Star itself in sight, but…”

Playable: Sparkster & Boom Sonic
Enemies: Robotnik and Sparkster (Axel Gear)
Stage: Wood Zone

“Destroy the Core!”

“It would seem that I had spoken too soon! Lyric had been planning to betray Robotnik just as he had his world’s version. He was working to prepare the technology of our worlds to build a mechanical empire of his own! Sonic’s princess was first to lead the charge, but I had to hurry! It’s very unknightly for me to not be close by to aid a princess…although she does seem quite capable.”

Playable: Lyric
Enemies: Sally, Amy, and Boom Amy
Stage: Death Egg – Sonic 2

“Swords are Tools of Justice!”

“Now was the time to put our legendary swords to good use! The fight began on an operating platform of Lyric’s own design aboard this new Pig Star. Can it even be called a Pig Star anymore let alone a Death Egg? Hm…guess it doesn’t matter. Lyric’s protective armor was said to be impenetrable by ordinary means, but we wouldn’t know for sure unless we tried! He tried to even the odd with two improved Metal Sonics, but that vile snake would soon learn we were more than enough of a match for them combined!”

Playable: Sparkster/Gold Sparkster & Sonic/Excalibur Sonic
Enemies: Lyric and Neo Metal Sonic x2
Stage: Sky Citadel

CG Cutscene: The Sacred Swords United!       (BGM: Devilgus Phase 2/Return of the Sword)

Somewhere just outside the coastline, Lyric’s star station could be seen exploding and falling apart. There is a brief shot of several characters watching in anticipation from the sides. This includes both the Boom and main interpretations of Sonic’s main cast, botht he Fleetway and Archie Freedom Fighters, Princesses Sherry and Cherry, and a few Boom related characters like Cliff and Perci amongst others. Sparkster and Sonic are then both seen flying out in their respective super forms. Everyone begins to cheer as they are seen flying in from a distance. A shot is then seen of them flying together in shots similar to the poses during the credits of many a Rocket Knight game.

<Sparkster> “Let’s go!”

<Sonic> “Alright!”

From behind them a portal would be seen within the space station as he began collapsing on itself and debris was being pulled into it like a black hole.

<Lyric> “You vermin!”

Lyric would be seen flying in from behind Sonic and Sparkster reaching out towards them.

<Lyric> “It’s not over yet!”

On the ground many would look concerned, a close shot shown on the two princesses of Sparkster’s world. Sonic and Sparkster look behind themselves and ready their swords as they keep flying.

<Sonic> “He just doesn’t know when to give up!”

<Sparkster> “Well then…we’ll just have to show him our swords’ true power!”

They would both spin around and hover in mid-air. Sparkster’s sword would become engulfed in flames. Caliburn could be heard grunting as Sonic’s Excalibur began to glow with power. Both Sparkster and Sonic would then go into their respective spin attacks while holding their swords out.

<Sparkster and Sonic> “Your number’s up, Lyric!”

Upon hitting him, they would leave slashes in the shape of an X on Lyric’s armor. It would begin to fall off, leaving nothing but is snakey body underneath. Lyric would cry out as he falls back. His long body would be pulled into the portal as it began to close up.

<Lyric> “Nooooooooooooo!~”

As they keep their backs turned and watch this the crowd would begin cheering from the shore. The Sonic Boom version of Sonic in particular would step out and smirk with his hands at his hips.

<Boom Sonic> “Heh. Not bad at all.”

<Sparkster> “So that’s it. We’re all in the process of getting back to our respective worlds and I’m back on Elhorn. It was a unique experience and I was glad to have met Sonic…both of them as a matter of fact. We’ll soon be parting ways and…”

*Knock-Knock*

<Sparkster> “Oh…um…come in.”

<Sonic> “Hey. What are you doing in here? Weren’t you going to say goodbye to everyone?”

<Sparkster> “Well I just wanted to record all this while it was still fresh on my mind.”

<Boom Sonic> “Oh come on. That can wait.”

<Sparkster> “Well I guess it does take some precedence. Have to admit its been somewhat odd getting to know two of you.”

<Sonic> “Well yeah it kind of took some getting used to.”

<Boom Sonic> “But once we got over the fact that one’s a foot taller, we aren’t really that different.”

<Sparkster> “Hehe. I guess the same could be said for myself with either of you.”

<Boom Sonic> “I may not know my way around a sword as well, but I could definitely keep up with that rocket pack you’ve got on. Should see if Tails can make some improvements to it.”

<Sparkster> “Thanks for the offer, but I feel more accustomed to what I got.”

<Sonic> “Also helped that me and the other Sonic here got some experience with little guys and blue armor.”

<Sparkster> “…Am I really that short?”

<Sonic> “No biggie. I’ve met another Sonic who’s about your size.”
<Sparkster> “Wait…there’s more of you?!”

<Boom Sonic> “All over the place although we only meet once in a blue moon.”

<Sparkster> “Hm…well once I’ve said my goodbyes I’ll be training a new generation of Rocket Knights to follow my example, but I’m sure they’ll bring something unique in the process.”

<Boom Sonic> “Long as they don’t turn out like that Axel Gear. Guy makes Shadow seem nice in comparison.”

<Sparkster> “Indeed…but who is Shadow?”

<Sonic> “Looks kind like me, but how much of a jerk he is kinda depends on the zone.”

<Sparkster> “All these zones have been bouncing me around in ways even I can’t keep up with. In any case, I had better say my farewells to everyone else.”

<Sonic> “Was great to meet you, Spark dude.”

<Boom Sonic> “Likewise here. See ya!”

(The Rarest of Encounters)           BGM: The Bear and Bird Begin – L.O.G Variant

<LOG> “Greetings. I am known as the Lord of Games, but you may call me L.O.G. What is that? You have not heard of me? I am only the grand creator of all video games that have and ever will be! What’s that? Sonic Team? The Stamper Brothers? They are but pawns to my grand design. As for icons developed by the latter of those two, two icons that have often caught my addition are Banjo and Kazooie. Well…maybe the term “icon” is stretching it a bit. Being how those two are currently out of action, they have fallen into being “second-rate” game characters. I mean come on, even Alex Kidd was one more than the five games they have and no I’m not counting guest appearances in racing titles! One “icon” who had gotten more…almost as much as the “Italian gentleman”…is that of Sonic the Hedgehog. Although…I can’t ignore any recent mishaps…”

*Shows a picture of Sonic the Hedgehog 2006*

<LOG> “Could it be…that Sonic is also falling into being a “second-rate” game character? Such a quandary. Wait…perhaps…yes! Perhaps the best idea to test their prowess is a contest with Sonic and his ever growing cast of sidekicks against the bird and bear! Because hey…the whole crossover deal worked with one of the Battletoads last games from what I remember. Shall I send them to a contest in Showdown Town? No-no~…I think I have something a bit more traditional in mind.”

“May the Best Mascot Win”

<LOG> “Welcome wash-out platformer heroes! Let us start things out simple with an old fashioned footrace as a bit of a warm-up. Even if you barely make it the first time you can always attempt a time trial.”

<Sonic> “Whoa! Time out! Isn’t be racing on a foot a bit unfair?”

<Kazooie> “Just wait until I get the Turbo Trainers powerup, spikey!”

Playable: Sonic
Enemies: Banjo
Stage: Whale Ocean

“Obligatory Tutorial Level”

<LOG> “Now that you’ve gotten to know each other it is time to go your separate ways. I have decided to get you two outside of your comfort zones, but having you with each other’s environments and adversaries rather than your own. I will have the fox here teach you the basics of Sonic’s world and no…it cannot be skipped.”

<Tails> “I usually have to explain things to Sonic as he goes. Could be worse. You could have Omochao doing this.”

<Banjo> “Oh my what now?”

Playable: Banjo
Enemies: Tails
Stage: Station Square

“It’s a Witchy Witchy World”

<LOG> “Now I’ll just get you acquainted with each other’s villains. Due to graphical limitations and first-party rules, this clichéd crone will merely be a stage hazard using your usual arch-foe’s enemies.”

<Gruntilda> “Laugh now you waling tv screen! When it comes to pest extermination I am queen!”

<Sonic> “…She’s going to talk like that all the time isn’t she?”

Playable: Sonic
Enemies: Swatbot x3
Stage: Spiral Mountain

“Orca Smells Tasty Dinner”
<LOG> “As for you I will have you navigate the hub worlds between the “adventure” style titles since that is what you used to. Thankfully this area from Station Square is unlocked from the start. However, I expect you to collect as many rings as possible while you’re in there. Just don’t swim out too far or the killer whale will make fish food out of you.”

<Kazooie> “Can’t we ever go for a dip without restrictions?”

<Banjo> “It’s blocked off by an invisible wall to begin with.”

Playable: Banjo
Enemies: E-102 Gamma x3
Stage: Emerald Coast

“The Witch Doctor is Out”

<Mumbo> “Hello. You reach answering machine of Mumbo Jumbo. I am not here.  You may reach Humba Wumba for changing needs, but she no take calls.”

<LOG> “Hm…that’s a pity. Seems you won’t be getting help from Mumbo over at Angry Aztec. Too bad. Seems you won’t turn into a blue tyrannosaurus or dragon, but we do have these “wizard warriors” from your comic and cartoon spin-offs. Come to think of it, your competition never got anything in the animation department, so there’s a point for your side.”

<Knuckles> “I suppose I’m going to have to find more Emerald Shards in between helping Sonic fight these two…”

Playable: Sonic & Knuckles
Enemies: Ixis Naugas and Iron Queen
Stage: Mystic Ruins

“Meet Your New Nemesis”

<LOG> “I see you finally found enough Emeralds, Jiggies, Rings, and Notes to reach Windy Valley over in the next hub world. You’re just in time as we have someone to introduce you to.”

<Eggman> “Ohohoho!~ So this is who I have to deal with instead of Sonic? Very well then. I’ll crush them both in a single blow with my Checker-Wrecker!”

<Banjo> “He can’t be that much harder than Grunty, right?”

Playable: Banjo
Enemies: Eggman
Stage: Windy Valley

“Another Bear and Bird?”

<LOG> “So let us mix things up a little. Let’s have you fight a duo like unlike yourselves. A lazy bear and a bird that won’t shut up. In fact they’ve been in even less games than you.”

<Kazooie> “Enough of that already!”

<Bean> “Oh hey! Self-referential humor! Ian’s only given me so much of that so far! Although I’m twice chatty under Tracy’s pen! You can thank those two for the wining personality that Sega could never provide. So how am I doing so far in the wall-wrecking, fellow birdie?”

<Kazooie> “Personally I’m having enough problems just following your text speed.”

Playable: Banjo
Enemies: Bean and Bark
Stage: Red Mountain

“Not Exactly Ice Cap”

<LOG> “Let’s check back with Sonic now, shall we? He’s in the only other familiar Banjo environment available. Also, FYI, you can’t tell right now, but Grunty is now in another hand-me down robot body connected to a disembodied skull with a lousy bit-map skin overlay.”

<Gruntilda> “Laugh now, LCD brain! Very soon, Sonic shall share in my pain!”

Playable: Sonic
Enemies: Eggrobo x3
Stage: Freezeezy Peek

“I’m Your Rival, Right?”

<LOG> “So I’ve been looking at what Sonic does and apparently in his games there’s always this part where he’s fighting the other playable character. This stage in particular was part of a particularly infamous example of that. So then…have at it!”

<Banjo> “Well…I don’t really have anything against Sonic personally.”

<Sonic> “Hey I won’t hold it against you. I’m cool with you either way so far.”

Playable: Banjo
Enemies: Sonic
Stage: Soleanna

“Villains Steal the Show…Amongst Other Things”

<LOG> “What the..?! Did the game just crash!? I mean…wow. I hadn’t seen that since Conker’s game. Oh…well apparently while I was watching Sonic and Banjo fight, our two feature villains got together. In fact, the bad doctor was happy enough to take Grunty’s skull and give it a new body. Namely in the core of that one Metal Sonic boss nobody remembers. By the way, I’ll try to see if I can get Knuckles Chaotix on Xbox Live Arcade eventually. Maybe get in Jet Force Gemini while I’m at it.”

<Gruntilda> “You had better, you lazy ass! Last playthrough I never got around to the final boss at Mizar’s Palace!”

Playable: Metal Sonic Kai
Enemies: Sonic & Banjo
Stage: White Space

“Coconuts Kart Racing”

<LOG> “Well…I couldn’t have predicted this. I mean…NO…this was all part of my grand design and…huh…hey could you three do me a favor and help stop those two for me? Already they’re trying to show me up with references to collaborations from past consoles. I mean that’s not even funny if you can’t even show the robot monkeys riding in little carts during gameplay!”

<Eggman> “Oh, what’s wrong? Are you jealous that a genius like myself may be a better game developer than even you?”

Playable: Sonic & Banjo
Enemies: Coconuts x3
Stage: Whale Ocean

“Damseled Again? Seriously?!”

<LOG> “What’s this?! It would seem that Eggman and Grunty are making a go to kidnap Tooty and Amy in order to lure you into some kind of trap!”

<Amy> “Oh come on! I had such a good track record being a more independent woman! Why do I suddenly have to look so helpless again?!”

<LOG> “Hey, look on the bright side. Tooty only had this happen to her once, but on the other hand she hadn’t been seen in any other games since that one time. At least you get to be playable.”

Playable: Banjo & Amy
Enemies: Metal Sonic x3
Stage: Spiral Mountain

“A Lazy Days Rescue”

<LOG> “Despite winning the fight, it seems those robots were able to make off with those girls towards Bubblegloop Swamp. Amy has already had a spell placed on her by Grunty while Tooty seems to have been stuffed inside a reused robot design. Perhaps this underrated and huge feline can help out. He and Banjo seem to be on the same wavelength personality wise.”

<Big> “Hm…maybe I should get a backpack so Froggy can help me out more.”

Playable: Banjo & Big
Enemies: Amy and Gamma
Stage: Meta Jungira

“Careful. This Bird is Loaded”

<LOG> “Those two bad guys has-beens have now inducted backup from obscure handheld titles now. Feel free to shoot at your fellow avians, Kazooie. There’s no love lost here. Oh what’s wrong? Is the dark colored antih-heo missing his guns? Well get a load of this. Kazookie practically is a gun! She’s got all varieties. Ice Eggs…Fire Eggs…Grenade Eggs.”

<Shadow> “Enough already. That doesn’t really impress me.”

<Battlekukku XV> “That more than impresses me! I’ll need to see if Dr. Fukurov can get us some R&D on our own birdie armada to do that!”

Playable: Banjo & Shadow
Enemies: Battle Kukku XV and Speedy
Stage: Freezeezy Peak

“Bears and Witches Together?”

<LOG> “Wendy Witchcart….that name even eludes my vast databanks of video game trivia. Apparently she’s an old enemy of your foxy friend with the double behind and her expertise is turning mascots into crystal. She’s got a bear henchman causing trouble in this stage along with some freelancers. Nenever thought I would see the day a witch would get along with an ursine. So why isn’t she fighting at all?”

<Wendy> “It’s you and Omegamorph’s fault for not getting a decent moveset out for me! Just get to it already! It’s not like Archie’s going to unearth each and every forgotten SegaSonic character out there! You have a better chance of seeing Lumina Flowlight in the comics!”

Playable: Banjo & Tails
Enemies: Drago and Nack
Stage: Ruin Wood

“Over the Hill and Through the Mid-Bosses”

<LOG> “Ah I see you’ve found a cauldron leading to…well…Cauldron Keep. The Big-Ol-Blaster is out of commission since last time, but Eggy and Grunty seem like they’re up for getting that back online. Why look over there! It’s Klungo! Also…two other minions I’ve never heard of.”

<Klungo> “Pleasssse me niccce to Klungo’s new friendssss. They are doing me a ssssolid ssssince I am not playable.”

Playable: Banjo & Sonic
Enemies: Snively and Grimer
Stage: Metropolis

“..And we Thought Grunty was Ugly”

<LOG> “It didn’t take Eggman long to make himself at home. Grunty decided in advance to invite the families and have the relatives bear witness to the defeat of their arch-foes. What really gets my eye flippers unsteady is the presence of Eggy’s mom. I mean, sweet sabrewulf! She’s ten times uglier than Grunty and that’s not even going into her personality.”

<Scratch> “Bwa-ho-ho! Not so loud she’ll hear you!”

Playable: Banjo, Sonic, & Tails
Enemies: Mama Robotnik, Scratch, and Grounder
Stage: Robotnik’s Fortress

“She’s Got that Killer Instinct”

<LOG> “So once again we’re at the final battle against Grunty. Better get this in one go and make sure you’ve got all the Jinjos. I’ve always taken pride in making sure these end fights are extra hard.”

<Gruntilda> “Iyahahahaha! This new body is feeling great! I’ll have these whelps take in all of my hate!”

<LOG> “By the way, Metal Sonic seemed ahead of the curve before Grunty took over. I mean he talked in angry garbled sounds way before getting into what I like to call “Banjo-Speak”! Although…apparently he’s talking more these days…”

<Gruntilda> “Be silence with your trivial trivia blight! Let’ just start the fight!”

Playable: Banjo, Sonic, & Knuckles
Enemies: Metal Sonic Kai
Stage: Egg Fleet

“Get Out the Cheato Codes!”

<LOG> “What? I thought were already done with the boss battle? Ugh. I can’t keep up with the pace of these Sonic games having one final boss after another. Seems our two lead washout villains had a trump card to help bend the game’s code to their will. Sonic has his usual super form but I think I’ll do him one better and get out these Cheato code pages.”

<Gruntilda> “Gyah! Ack! Is shredded those! I shredded those, you hack!”

<LOG> “A little tape and tape fixes everything. So let’s see~…while Sonic gets bumped up one super form while Banjo gets infinite everything! Infinite eggs! Infinite red wings! Infinite Wonderwings! Everything!”

<Eggman> “That’s absurd! Someone’s still using cheat codes in this day and age?!”

Playable: Super Sonic/Hyper Sonic & Banjo
Enemies: Time Eater (Grunty)

CG Cutscene: …And the Award Goes to.                         (BGM: Banjo Tooie Credits)

Grunty and Eggman’s fortress would be seen collapsing on itself as if being pulled into some tear in reality. Just before it closes up, Eggman would be shot out while holding onto Grunty’s skull.

<Eggman and Grunty> “Eeeeeeeeeeeee!~”

They would crash down close to where Sonic, Tails, Banjo, and Kazooie were gathered in front of LOG. On the side were familiar faces like Amy, Bottles, Knuckles, Tooty, Jamjars, Shadow, Sally, and Humba Wumba. Mumbo in particularly is seen arriving late wearing sunglasses and vacation attire.

<Kazooie> “Well, we sure showed Winkybunion and Buttnik, huh?”

<Tails> “Yup. All’s well that ends well, right?”

<Sonic> “So then…what about that competition between me and Banjo?”

<Banjo> “Huh…yeah. I was kinda wondering how that went.”
<LOG> “Well…ahem…after that display I just couldn’t decide which of you is the better mascot, so as of now I will say that both of you are equal in my eyes and at the top of your game.”

<Sonic> “Wow. Thanks a bunch.”

<Banjo> “I feel pretty honored to be in the same class as Sonic.”

<Kazooie> “Still feels anticlimactic without a clear winner though.”

<LOG> “I’ll admit this could have been handled better, but for now…let me see to these two has-been troublemakers.”

Eggman would look up while shaking Grunty’s skull around.

<Eggman> “What?! You mean to say you think of them as first-rate and yet we’re still has-beens?! Why I oughta have the nerve to…”

They would then suddenly disappear as Sonic and Banjo are handed parts of a trophy split in two.

<LOG> “They can work off the sentence helping finish programming for Project Spark. With the load lightened maybe I can get around to Banjo-Threeie and Sonic Adventure 3.”

The scene then cuts to Eggman having to carry around boxes of various Sega and Rare games while being overseen by Orbot and Cubot. Grunty would be seen working at a computer station in what looks like her body from Nuts & Bolts combined with an Egg Pawn.

<Gruntila> “Laugh now you bunch of hacks! By the next crossover game we’ll be back on the attack!”

“A Race for All Ages!”

<LOG> “So after that celebration, I decided that there had to be an easier way to have mascots compete on a regular basis. So contacted my servants from Sumo Digital and had those craft replicas of Sonic’s home stages and other familiar venues to race on. It’s just the ones for the Sega end for now, but Banjo and Kazooie were one of the first guest of honor! I have to admit…those two has-beens didn’t do half bad.”

Playable: Sonic & Banjo
Enemies: Nights and Vyse
Stage: Race of Ages
----------------------------------------
<LOG> “Hm…while I have judged you two equally…let me see if I can do a fair comparison between our two duos.”

<Sonic> “Go right ahead, LOG. I’m pretty satisfied with the results either way.”

<LOG> “Let’s see…Sonic only needs 50 rings for the special zone and usually just has seven Chaos Emeralds to collect per game.”

<Banjo> “Wish I had it that easy..”

<LOG> “Tails carries Sonic much like Kazooie does Banjo, but tires out way too easy.”

<Tails> “Come on its hard work. Not like I have red wings to collect.”

<Kazooie> “Did Sonic ever have to use you like a gun at all?”

<Sonic> “No way! Besides guns are more Shadow’s thing.”

<LOG> “As previously stated. We will have to see about getting more of our characters some spinoffs.”

<Banjo> “Didn’t the rest of the guys besides Conker from that racing title have something planned?”

<LOG> “Sorry. Sometimes things just don’t work out. Sonic Xtreme comes to mind in regards to that problem…which reminds me of yet another mishap.”

<Sonic> “Come on. Give me a break! I mean what about Banjo’s recent game?”

<Kazooie> “Hey! Nuts & Bolts is just fine when you give it a chance! Besides there’s always the original for download any time you want.”

<Tails> “I’m glad we got both Sonic Adventures back on the market along with CD at least.”

<LOG> “Hurm…I’ll need to think this over. There’s so many plusses and minuses. Perhaps I should see how Banjo handles in the mobile market.”

Wanted to get at least two more crossover scenarios out before I move on to any new characters. Banjo amd Sparkster probably still got plenty of old fans, so I wanted to do both series justice. The Rocket Knight scenario has plenty of nods to Sparkster’s old stories in the Fleetway comics which is why I used a lot of Sonic the Comic elements. As you also see, I gave an early appearance to the Sonic Boom characters as a taste of things to come. As for Banjo, I wanted to make extra sure I captured the light hearted tone of the series which as you can see has plenty of 4th wall humor. Just picture everyone talking in the usual Banjo Kazooie gibberish with subtitles…yes, even the Sonic cast.

I’ll put other scenarios on hold for now so I can get around to working on any new character I have in mind. Of course I’m still waiting for a few certain comics and to see more of what the Sonic Boom franchise has to offer.

“What’s that? Sonic Team? The Stamper Brother? They are but pawns for my grand design.”

Thats quite a way to say you you take credit for other people’s hard work. Also, if LOG did make every video game the way they’re supposed to be, wouldn’t that means he’s technically responsible for every villainous/bad actions in every game ever?

”Shes gonna talk like this for the rest of the game isn’t she?”

Well, you could always get Grunty’s sisters to make her stop…Oh wait, they’re dead.

”Hey, look on the bright side. Tooty‘s only been kidnapped once, but on the other hand she hasn’t been in any games since that one time. “

Honestly wonder what happened to her when she went missing? Did she just go Thanos-snap out of existence ? Or was she place in some sort of prison bin? And what are the standards for being rubbish characters? At least her appearance in Smash Ultimate shows she’s fine.

Didn’t the rest of of the guys aside from Conker have something planned for them”

Sorry, some things just never work out”

I honestly would’ve love to see the alternate universe where they did get their starring roles. For now, we can only speculate and wonder What Could Have Been.
