<Morph> “Where did all this start for me? It seems that no matter what I’ve been always fighting. Hrm.~ I have to wonder what Sonic thinks of all this now? This new world. Does he even remember anything from the past anymore, let alone all those left behind? We haven't always saw eye to eye with one another. Still…there’s still much I can do on this new Mobius, though at the moment it has to be on my own. Mobius. Should I even call it that anymore? Perhaps I should think back to the beginning. My inception…the beginning of this long ongoing war that planet was fighting…”

“Life for War”

“Somewhere in Megacentral, the Overland capital. That’s clearly how I remember it. I was created by scientists who sought to surpass the master works of Profession Gereld. I was going to be merely a research project, but once the military got wind I was quickly converted into their ideal war machine. An adaptable body that operates based on the situation. Hench the name…Morph.”

“Mobian Enemy”

“So why choose a Mobian form? Maybe it was as a homage to Project Shadow or maybe it was meant to deceive my potential enemies. I killed anyone in my path without a second thought once deployed. I saw nothing wrong with it given that I knew nothing else. At least at first. There's nothing I can do to take back any of the lives I've taken. I met those fighting amidst this and saw this feeling I was not familiar with at the time. Camaraderie.”

I would go on to show Kodos just what the difference between us was. I knew that Overlander and Mobian alike were getting caught in the crossfire of his attacks. This needed to stop.”

“Julian Kintobor. I have vague recollection of the name. He was the one ordered to finally bring me down. A scientist in the war? How hard could it? He had help. A sorcerer. I had no idea these two had actually shaped this war into what they had saw fit. They pushed me to my limit, but by the end I would not be awake to see the end of the war…but the beginning of many others was soon to come.”

“I needed to know how long I had been asleep. Julian was now calling himself Robotnik and had taken over a majority of the planet. What really sickened me is how he had bent others to his will using Roboticization. While lashing out at some of his forces, I had inadvertently helped just one of many groups of those Freedom Fighters fighting Julian.”

“The more I found out about Robotnik and Eggman, the more I found out about what was always in their way. Sonic. I wanted to see him for myself if he was worth the hype. That mouthy yet cool-headed attitude was a migraine to say the least. Nothing I could put up with for long. I did see one thing about him though. He was doing his damn well hardest to get Mobians out of harm's way."

"I followed him back to that place. Knothole. It was where most from Mobotropolis ended up once Robotnik had taken up. This seemed to be one of the few refuges they had. The Freedom Fighters took me in like it was no problem. We sparred a little to see what we were capable of. I didn't feel I deserved to be with them. Not after all I did during the war."

“I knew that those that were Roboticized were still Mobians in the end, yet they were some who still treat them as less than that. This one in particular was a child, but these so-called Freedom Fighters from a place called Sand Blast held nothing back. It sickened me. They claimed to be Freedom Fighters, but had no idea what they were fighting for.”

“To Do what is Necessary”

“Plenty of time had passed since then. Robotnik was thought to be defeated once, but another named Eggman had come taking his place. Alternate dimensions apparently. Sounds like a pain in the ass. What’s more that the newer one was willing to use organics via some group calling themselves the Dark Legion. Some had chosen their path, but others had been forced. This one boy scout from the town of South Lake was a Freedom Fighter along with his sister. They invited me back just as the Freedom Fighters did. Even for my tastes, this Cosmic felt like a boy scout. I didn't stick around long."

“Had no intention of helping these Freedom Fighters since I have my share of reservations regarding the Acorn Kingdom, plus I worked better on my own not having to worry about others. I felt I needed to keep moving. They could focus on Robotropolis while I stay on the move and help elsewhere. Still, I couldn’t just stand by while that one kid was being attacked this one time. He’s alright, but a bit naïve. He was willing to let me stay at his workshop for just a little bit just so I could rest."

“While assisting Tails, he had allowed me to spar with this new pet project of his. That’s when I met the one I was originally modelled after…Project Shadow himself. We both ended up fighting this robot that Tails had found. He seemed to know something about this robot and didn’t think much of me either. Feeling’s mutual.”

“One time while investigating the area outside what’s left of Robotropolis, I stumbled across a civilization that had long been in hiding. I met up with its leader, Griff, along with his recent ally, Ari. I helped these two against a few machines that had gone rogue. Before I knew it, I was assisting Lower Mobius on a regular basis.”

I was unable to beat him at first, but I had grown close to Lower Mobius over time. All of a sudden…a power came from my desire...my desire to defend it!”

“Apparently I was making a name for myself as just outside an entrance to Lower Mobius, this Overlander came looking for me. Some kind of mercenary? Didn’t matter. He was in over his head and it wasn’t long before he was the one who was hunted.”

“Tch…some of the Overlanders, or at the very least some offshoot of them, had formed their own society. With their own military at that. I wasn’t by any means their property, but they sought me out wanting my talent. I told them to shove it. I wasn't get involved on the wrong side of any war ever again."

“Who Do You Trust?”

“When that didn’t work, they sent an agent to track me down. Apparently even Shadow was working with them now. Never would have pictured it myself, but I was intent on not being tied down to be solely a weapon again. I let this woman known just how I thought, but was able to break things off in some understanding.”

“The Difference between Us”

“While checking how things were back in Knothole, I saw two lowlifes sneaking around. Some monkey and a weasel respectively. I knew of Nack the Weasel’s reputation and knew someone like him wasn’t likely to change his ways. Sonic felt I was a little too rough and stepped in to help the weasel. Not like his enemies would give him the same mercy.”

“Signs of an Old Threat?”

“I had my share of disagreements with some of these past acquaintances, but others I had some form of understanding with. Two of them just so happened to be at the same place incidentally searching one of Eggman’s labs left behind. It’s there that we found some old-model Swatbots, but the design looks as if they had been created most recently. Possibly from Julian’s old designs?”

CG Cutscene: The Beast                 (BGM: “Original Music – Tyrant Morph Theme”)

Morph is seen walking towards the horizon with his scarf partially obscuring his face. As he is seen walking he comes to a stop. He lifts part of his scarf down showing a shocked expression on his face. In the reflection of his goggles, a burning forest can be seen. Morph suddenly takes off into a run, moving through a burning forest until he reaches Knothole Village, currently amidst the devastating attack on it staged by the Egg Fleet.

<Morph> “No…damn it...!”

He unsheathes his claws and runs in, slicing through several Egg Pawns currently firing bazookas upon the houses.

<Morph> “Damn it! Damn it all!”

He then comes to a stop, seeing Snively near Freedom HQ. The scene goes to Morph’s point of view as he witnesses Mighty zapped by Snively’s transporter beam. Interpreting this as Mighty being disintegrated, he roars out and charges towards the mecha. He would be knocked back as said mecha explodes, merely being a distraction for Sonic’s side as Snively gets away in the mecha’s escape ship that formally served as its head. The scene sticks to Morph’s point of view as his ears start ringing and he fades in and out of consciousness.

<Morph> “Need…to protect…No…”

As he begins to come to, Morph’s vision blurs. He is barely able to make out a Heavy-Egg Hammer slowly approaching him. He believe this to be Eggman himself at first.

<Morph> “…I’ll kill you…”

The Egg Hammer begins to raise its signature weapon above its head.

<Morph> “I’LL KILL YOU!”

An explosion suddenly fires out, blowing a large hole in the Egg Hammer. As it falls to the ground, the camera pans around to show that Morph’s hand no longer as its claws extended. Instead, having spikes coming out of his arm while flames now cover his hand. Morph then collapses forward, catching himself as he punches the ground. His grey fur begins to turn jet black and a red cape shoots out from his back. A close-up is shown from the side as Morph closes his eyes and he clenches his teeth.

<Morph> “Destruction…Rain destruction upon my enemies…”

From a distance, a pillar of fire is seen from a distance as Morph I heard screaming out. More time has passed than originally believed, as Tails is already helping Sonic back on his feet back towards what’s left of Freedom HQ. He looks behind himself what appeared to be Morph in a smoldering crater as some of Eggman’s remaining army begins to move towards him.

<Sonic> “Morph?”

From a distance, Morph is seen extending out spiked chains from his arms that slice said robots in half easily. Sonic promptly runs towards that direction despite his fatigue and any other concerns.

<Tails> “Sonic, wait!”

The scene then turns towards a hill overlooking the scene from afar. A warp ring raises up, raising some manner of beacon down upon the ground from the other side. A familiar hand then leans upon it as Dr. Finetivus is seen watching the scene with an evil grin.

<Finetivus> “Now…let’s see just what you’re capable of.”

“Destruction”

“How could we have all let our guard down so easily?! I could have saved Knothole earlier if I caught them all in time. So many caught in yet another war…I was sick of it. I gave in just then. I wanted Julian’s successor dead more than anything at that point. All I could think about was what he did and what he could potentially do later. Caught in my bloodlust, I wanted him dead more than anything. Instead I found duplicates of his latest toy.”

“The Tyrant state is different from my Omega form. One’s an intent to protect and the other’s the intent to kill. It wasn’t just me though. Someone was using some kind of beacon to agitate me further and send me on a rampage. Almost like a field test for something greater. I knew next time I saw this echidna, I wouldn’t let it slide.”

“What?! These idiots?! Mrr…I’ve heard about Shining Force and seen a little bit of these two. His son’s the kind to do things more head-first, literally charging into that beacon. It broke it, but I’m not gonna trust this idiot rat to help me on a regular basis.”

“There’s one severe downside of reverting back from my Tyrant form. It leaves me severely drained. This Finetivus had some lackeys waiting to take advantage of my state. He didn’t know it at the time, but someday this fake Sonic will be in the same boat as me. He also didn’t know that I would eventually get a chance to pay him back with interest.”

“Once I learned more of Angel Island, I went there and sought out aid. As it turns out, this guardian had enemies that could care less of him, although they did find some interest in the fact that I was a lifeform made entirely of digital. I had enough problems and didn’t have time for someone who thinks she could dominate me like some common Mobini dog.”

CG Cutscene: Now I’ll Fight on Your Level                 (BGM: “His World – Zebrahead”)

A large green explosion is seen erupting from within Angel Island. It causes of pillar of energy which just grazes off of New Mobotropolis’ force shield, but still shaking up the Freedom Fighters and Chaotix witnessing from inside. Back within the remains of the Chaos Chamber, the super versions of Sonic and Morep would hover side by side in front of Enerjak.

<Sonic> “Now…it’s time for us to beat the evil out of you!”

<Morph> “Mrr…you did not just say that.”

The two would fly out, baiting out Enerjak to give chase outside of Angel Island.

<Enerjak> “You dare use my own power against me?!”

<Sonic> “You better believe it!”

<Morph> “Didn’t have much say in the matter…”

Morph forms two transparent energy talons around his hands

<Morph> “…But I’ll glad give you what I’ve borrowerd!”

He charges forwards and tackles him, ramming him into the bottom tip of Angel Island. The two grapple as they plow through the underside of the island, eventually causing them to emerge the other side and force the very bottom tip of the island to crash down near New Mobotropolis. After punching towards each other for a moment, they would break apart.

<Enerjak> “Are my methods not the same as yours? You seek a sanctuary just as I did for the echidnas.”

<Morph> "Its not you calling the shots in that decision and it’s not freedom! All those echidnas certainly didn't have a say they were moved off of here! With the Master Emerald here this place is a big fat target for Robotnik, Finetivus, or whomever. I also wouldn't be surprised if someone ever came looking for trouble at Albion again. I'm sick of it all. All this war. In fact...I intend to keep the innocents out of these ongoing wars!”

Before Enerjak could counter, Sonic would ram Enerjak out of the way and higher up.

<Morph> “Tch…”

He looks up, seeing that Sonic was engaged with Enerjak now, his obnoxious banter barely heard off in the distance.

<Morph> “I can't help but wonder. Would a sanctuary be freedom...or just another cage?”

Morph assumes a ready stance as he sees Sonic shrug off a blast from Enerjak in the distance before countering with a series of mid-air spin dashes.

<Morph> “Worry about it later…”

Morph flies upwards with his talons bared

<Morph> “For now I’m bringing this fight to an end!”

“Hold Nothing Back, Even If It’s an Ally”

“What do I feel about Chaos Emeralds? Well I think they’re just a magnet for chaos given how many are after them. Just this once though, I was going to do things Sonic’s way. Had to admit they gave me a kick that I hadn’t felt before, but don’t expect me to rely on them as much as that hedgehog. I just transformed to insure Enerjak wouldn’t be anyone’s problem anymore.”

Happened upon these few claiming to be Sonic’s brother in particular. Hurm…a world where Sonic is royalty. Mrr…that's the stupidest idea I've ever heard."

“Damn…he had somehow come back. Julian had an entirely new Ultimate Annhilator and had somehow formed a new city modeled after that radioactive wreck he had left behind. I jumped in immediately. I knew he had to stay dead. I got careless and just had myself struggling to fight off copies that could roboticize me in an instant. Wonder if that’s even possible.”

“Defending the Nest Once More”

“I had been planning on turning Lower Mobius into something else. A refuge for others to get away from all this fighting between the Acorns and whatever bastard eggs were out there. They wouldn't have to stay there of course. They could come and go as they pleased. I couldn't help but think of Knothole and if New Mobotprolis was really that much safer since it doubled the main target for Eggman, who's always going to try to think up new ways past its defenses. Angel Island had just proved that so many will get caught in the crossfire of conflict. Yet even under that bastard Finetivus’ influence, the guardian still saw his people needed to be protected. I intended to start a new refuge. The lackey hadn’t joined with Julian, but he had built a copy in his place to come knocking at my door. I showed him what would happen if the original organic versions ever came to my door.”

She seems to think we’ve got a lot in common. Digital makeup aside, I’m not seeing it. She was always made for helping others more so than having to fight. I hope she doesn't get used to it. I gave them something in return though. During my fight in Robotropolis, I found the secret behind these new “Robotization Fields” that Julian was using to defend his new city”

“The Death Egg was destroyed and Julian was gone for good this time. Now that we had one less threat it was time to reveal what I intended to do with New Knothole. For all those who were sick and tired of being on the ongoing war with Eggman and many others, I welcomed anyone seeking safety. Sonic said that New Mobotropolis is no different from what I had in mind, but after the Iron Dominion stuff from a while back, I wasn't sure it would stay safe. It’s where Eggman and so many others direct their wrath since it’s the focal point of their war. I might have made an insinuation that Sonic was part of the problem since he pushed Eggman to take more desperate steps. Apparently that pushed his buttons and the two of us came to blows."

“Of course I would expect that GUN saw me as equally much of a problem. Likely saw New Knothole as a war just waiting to happen. They think Station Square is safe, but its come under just as much threats underneath that dome. Eggman did unleashed Pefect Chaos once on that city after all. Not to mention that their top agents claim to answer to no one, but act like dogs of the military now. Agendas can change depending on who's in charge. Even Project Shadow himself, who works for a military he has every means to hate. With how much pride he has in himself, I have to wonder if he really cares about saving anyone."

“Damn it all. I told Sonic that he should have made sure Eggman didn't escape. If it was me, I would have finished Eggman myself, but know Sonic could never cross that line. He had a Death Egg of his own now and no doubt that New Knothole was somewhere on its list. Not only that, but apparently Princess Sally herself was among the casualties and ended up robotized. I had no shortage of trust in her. I hesitated.”

“After my defeat, I learned that Naugas had taken over reign in New Mobo. More than ever it seemed like the worst place to be. Mrr…always did think that this new council was full of idiots. Mobotropolis couldn't see his true colors the first time around either. Something else at work? Maybe. Its obvious Naugas saw me as a threat though. He sent his lap dog to confront me. The commander. He’s the closed minded side of Mobians I hated from the old days. I let him know he was in over his head.”

Although that robot one has a familiarly obnoxious personality.”

“So I was face to face with the one who made the war that made me. I underestimated him though. He was getting more powerful than I had though. Naugas was in the same mindset with whatever crap he was being put through, so it would have been an even match either way between two beasts.”

“New Knothole was nowhere in sight. I had lost track of Griff and all the others in this mess and had doubts they had even existed now. Could some shit that did make the world this way? I was angry. I lost sight of myself. It wasn't just that though. Some new threat from right under our noses. Dark Gaia. Sonic was apparently going through something himself and all this ended with the two of us letting out steam more than anything. One thing's for sure. I had my share of feelings to sort out."

CG Cutscene: Fighting For What All is Left (BGM: “Reflection – Sonic Adventure 2”)

Morph would sit at a small campsite he had set up for himself, now back to living as a vagrant. He flashes back briefly to Griff in several others welcoming him back to New Knothole. A pair of blue fox children walk up to him and offer an ice cream in a cup. He takes it and ruffles the hair of one of these children slightly. Another scene is shown of him reluctantly being at Chuck’s Diner in New Mobo with a heavy pout on his face. Sonic is messing around with him while eating a chili dog. Another scene shows him laying on top of Alex’s cabin; while seeing Axel wave up to him along with other Shining Force members which include a brown female rabbit, a red cat with blue stripes, and Iggy amongst others. One other scene shows him using training equipment just outside the workshop at the Mystic Ruins while Tails watches on. One last scene shows Knuckles, Julie-Su, and Archimedes making a grave marker for Locke while Morph stands with them. Back at the current time and place, he stands up.

<Morph> “I guess…I made more connections than I had thought…”

Morph sighed as he lifted his goggles up and cracks his neck slightly. He then looks outwards through what is clearly the horizon of Westside Island with Emerald Hill and Hill Top clearly visible on the horizon.

<Morph> “Well then…let’s just see what all remains in this new world that’s worth fighting for..”

As the campfire dies down he would walk out of the alcove.

<Morph> “So...Knothole is back to how it was.”

<Sonic> “Yeah. That’s about the size of it, Morph. It’s a new world and I’m remembering new things as I go.”

<Morph> “So far I have nothing though. It might be because of my digital makeup that my memories were unaltered.”

<Sonic> “Yeah, I have to admit it’s hard to think at times. Still trying to find out who’s all still with us here while at the same time putting this planet back together.”

<Morph> “I feel I'm not in the place to argue tired old points. I made comrades of my own back when New Knothole was still here. I need to find them. Not necessarily to start anew, but to see where I fit in to this world.”

<Sonic> “Hey, just you remember. You’ve fought along with us Freedom Fighters pretty well too. You don’t have to be all Shadow #2 with all this raging. You’re welcome around Knothole any day.”

<Morph> “Mrr…you're really quick to forgive and forget, huh?. Heh. Fine. I’ll keep in touch, but in the meantime I have my own mess to get together. Be seeing you, Sonic."

<Sonic> "Yeah. Good luck on finding your buddies out there."
